Obituary for Mr. John Edward Mayo Sr. John Edward Mayo Sr. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, August 4, 2018 at First Benjamin Baptist Church in Opelousas, LA, for John Edward Mayo Sr., 68, who entered eternal rest, Saturday, July 21, 2018 in Lafayette, LA. Interment will be in St. Charles Cemetery in Grand Coteau, LA. Rev.

Albert Tezano will officiate the services. John is survived by his wife, Juanita Guidry Mayo of Opelousas, LA; two daughters, Alana Mayo of Lafayette, LA, and Karnita Mayo Durisseau of Opelousas, LA; three sons, Derrick N. Mayo (Jessica) of Opelousas, LA, Kevin Mayo Sr. (Tammy) of Opelousas, LA, and John Edward Mayo Jr. (LaSetta) of Eunice, LA; a sister, Dianna Mayo Neal of Forestville, Maryland; 16 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, god-children, other relatives, and friends. John was preceded in death by his parents, Johnnie and Julia Ann Francis Mayo; a sister, Josephine Mayo; a brother, Lester Mayo; and a son, Brian Broussard Thompson.
