Torrington- John F. Sieller, Jr., 89, passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2019, at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital, Torrington. He was the beloved husband of the late Laura M. (Clement) Sieller. Mr. Sieller was born in North Canaan on January 13, 1930, son of the late John F. Sieller Sr., and Dorothy E. (Tripp) Sieller, and had been Torrington resident for over 60 years.

He was a U.S. Navy Korean Conflict Veteran, and a retired Meat Cutter with First National Stores, retiring with over 30 years of service. Mr. Sieller was a communicant of St. John Paul the Great Parish, Torrington. He was an avid golfer, sports enthusiast, and enjoyed playing cards with his friends at the Armory.

Mr. Sieller enjoyed spending winter months in Florida and looked forward to spending time with family. Survivors include a daughter, Suzanne M. Sieller of Danville, PA; a son, Jason J. Sieller and his wife Angela of Torrington; two very special and adored grandchildren, Ella G. Sieller and Jack S. Sieller; a brother, Robert Sieller and his wife Juanita of Torrington; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Sieller was predeceased by a sister, Barbara White.

Funeral services will be held Monday, April 1, 2019 at 10:00a.m. from Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, 258 Prospect St., Torrington, to St. Francis of Assisi Church, 160 Main St., Torrington, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00a.m. Burial with full military honors will follow in St. Peter Cemetery, Torrington. Friends may call Sunday, March 31, 2019 from 3:00 to 5:00p.m. at Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home. At the request of the family, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Smilow Cancer Hospital Care Center, 200 Kennedy Drive, Torrington, CT 06790.
