Torrington- Cristina Mata Reyes, 88, passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital, Torrington. She was the wife of the late Domingo Reyes. Mrs. Mata Reyes was born in Paso de Moca, Dominican Republic on January 15, 1931, daughter of the late Manuel and Francisca (Arias) Mata, and had been a city resident for the past 15 years.

She was a communicant of St. John Paul the Great Parish. Cristina was dedicated to her Catholic faith and enjoyed attending weekly Masses. Survivors include four daughters, Francisca Reyes of La Augustina, DR.

, Ramona Fernandez of Jersey City, NJ, Juana Reyes of Torrington, and Digna Mercedes Reyes of Bronx, NY; two sisters, Conception Mata and Mi Lady Mata, both of DR. ; 10 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Ramona Reyes.

Funeral services and burial in Cementerio Municipal de Moca will be held in the Dominican Republic. Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, 258 Prospect St., Torrington, is in care of local arrangements.
