Cheraw Mr. John Henry Davis, formerly of Bennettsville, passed away, Saturday, May 11, 2019 at his residence after a brief illness. He was 86 years old. Mr. Davis was born in Cheraw, SC on June 16, 1932 to the late Sylvester and Edith Frazier Davis.

He was a member of The United States Air Force. He attended Bennettsville Wesleyan Church for many years. Mr. Davis was a long time Owner & Operator of Davis Furniture worked for Palmetto Furniture for over 40 years, it at these two places he got to enjoy his love for antiques and furniture.

He enjoyed bird watching, was active in all types of sports during his life, but most of all he loved his family. Mr. Davis leaves behind to cherish his loving memory his; wife, Rose Anne Davis of the home; sons, Chuck Davis and wife Debbie of Rock Hill, SC and Ricky Davis and wife Tammy of Bennettsville, SC; daughter, Debbie Covington and husband Julius of Cheraw, SC; brother, Rev. Donald Davis of Kannapolis, NC; sister, Magilee Thompson of Bennettsville, SC; grandchildren, Cassie Meikle and husband Mark, Shane Davis, Mikie Farris and wife Christina, Sarah Beth Davis, Rebekah Davis, Luke Davis, and Amanda Davis; 6 great grandchildren.

Mr. Davis was preceded in death by his parents listed above; son, John Michael Davis “Mike”; sisters, Miriam Ayers and Shirley McCollum. A funeral service will be a held 2:00 pm Monday, May 13, 2019, at Bennettsville Wesleyan Church, officiated by Revs. Henry Williams and Donald Davis, with burial in Oak Ridge Cemetery.

A visitation will be held from 1-2 pm just prior to the service. Memorials are suggested to Bennettsville Wesleyan Church, 206 Wiltshire Drive, Bennettsville, SC 29512. Online condolences may be made @ www.
