Daniels, 94, of the Leisuretowne section of Southampton, NJ, passed away Thursday, February 7, 2019, at home. Born in Philadelphia, PA, Jack resided in Springfield Delaware County and Naples, FL, before moving to Southampton 22 years ago. Jack graduated from Southwest Catholic High School, and enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps, trained at Parris Island, S. Carolina and joined the 5th Marine Division who landed on Iwo Jima in February of 1945.
After the War he married his lifelong love Jeannette and attended LaSalle University, graduating in 1954. He was employed as a Casualty Insurance Manager for Crum & Forster Insurance Company in Philadelphia. While in the business he became the President of the Casualty Insurance Underwriting Club of Philadelphia.
At the end of his career he was assigned to teach new comers in the business, a position he really enjoyed. In Leisuretowne he was an officer in the Military Veterans Club, the Curtain Callers Club in which he and his wife Jeannette performed in three of their shows. The Civic League and at one time the Golf Club.
Golf was his game and he played a lot while in Naples during the winter months with longtime friends. Jack spent time with his buddies at the 19th hole…”It’s Martini’s Time”. He was also a member of the newly formed Finance Committee of Leisuretowne, which he enjoyed very much.
He felt he was really “giving back” especially when it came to the Leisuretowne community assisting with their insurance contracts. He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Jeannette (nee Long) Daniels; his children, Eileen Daniels, Diane DiMartino (John), and John Daniels; 6 grandchildren, Joseph DeVito (Jill), Ryan DeVito (Rena), Matthew Devito (Max), David Sweeney, Steven DiMartino, and Jeffrey DiMartino; four great grandchildren, Vincent DeVito, Lucas DeVito, Mathis DeVito, and Matelynn DeVito; and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Wednesday, February 13, 2019, from 10-11AM, at St. Mary of the Lakes R.C. Church, 40 Jackson Rd.
, Medford, NJ. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11AM, at the church. Interment will follow in the Brig.
