OBITUARY John Pierce September 4, 1947 – January 7, 2019 John C. Pierce, 71 Loved his family, especially his grandchildren worked for New York City Transit Authority for 28 years; Vietnam Veteran John C. Pierce died on Jan. 7, 2019, surrounded by his loving family. John was the husband of Elizabeth Pierce (nee Ruffe), father of Richard Pierce (Darlene Pierce), Stephanie Wagner (Jae Wagner), Karen Vallely (Bill Vallely); grandfather of eight, Nicholas Pierce (deceased), Zachary Pierce, Emily Wagner, Kayleigh Pierce, Jason Wagner, Ryan Vallely, Daniel Pierce, and Sean Vallely.

He was the son of the late John H. Pierce and Emily Pierce (nee Connell); brother of the late David Pierce, and son-in-law of the late John and Elizabeth Ruffe. He was the brother-in-law of John, Brian, Dennis, and Richard Ruffe, Patricia Bedell, and Maureen Gianna, and uncle of many loving nieces and nephews. John loved being in his log cabin in the woods, and had a love of cars.

He loved his family and especially his grandchildren. John was adored by many. Visitation is Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Harmon Funeral Home, S.I. Mass is at Blessed Sacrament Church, S.I. on Friday at 12:30 p.m. Harmon Funeral Home 571 Forest Ave.
