Twiggy was a 1966 graduate of Owensboro Catholic High School and Western Kentucky University, majoring in accounting.

Twiggy enjoyed playing golf, watching sports, playing cards, going to horse races, and visiting casinos.

He was a wrestler at Columbus High School in Waterloo, Iowa and his claim to fame was that Dan Gable, USA Olympic Gold Medalist, was unable to pin him in high school when both were wrestling in the 98-pound class. He gained his nickname “Twiggy” when his construction coworkers thought he resembled the London fashion model of the same name. Twiggy is preceded in death by his father, John Sr. in 1989; his mother, Donna, in 2001 and by his nephews, John Ward in 2008 and Ryan Settles in 2012.

He is survived by his brothers, Pat (Marilyn) Pace and Chris (Laura) Pace; his sisters, Terri (Larry) Ward, Sue (Stirman) Libs and Carol (Marty) Settles; his nephews and nieces, Patrick Pace, Stephen Pace, Jack Pace, Stuart Pace, Kelly Wiseman, Kerry Hamilton, Michael Ward, Lori Johnson, Casey Libs, Becca Libs, Marty Settles Jr., Nick Settles, Lee Deno and Tim Settles; and his best friend, Luann Kirkland. Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Father Pat Reynolds officiating. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.

Visitation is from 3 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday with prayers at 6:30 p.m. at James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory and from 9 to 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
