Obituary for John Ross Anderson Funeral services for Mr. John Ross Anderson, age 88, of Sparta, will be held at 1pm on Monday, November 26, 2018, in the chapel of Oak Lawn Funeral Home. John Pippin will officiate the service. Burial will follow in Corinth Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Monday from 10am until the time of the service at the funeral home. Mr. Anderson was born on Friday, November 2, 1930, in Sparta, the son of the late Issac Ray Anderson and the late Effie Rector Anderson. He was a life-long resident and life-long farmer of White County.
He was a member of Shady Grove Methodist Church. His surviving family members include the following: wife – Helen Juanita Anderson of Sparta four daughters – Susan Sparkman (Johnny) of Sparta Denise Austin (Craig) of Atlanta Peggy Hutchings (Don) of Sparta Mary Beth Godwin (Bennie) of Dickson son – William Ross Anderson of Sparta Twelve grandchildren and twenty-four great-grandchildren also survive. In addition to his parents, Mr Anderson was preceded in death by a son, John Stephen Anderson and a brother Henry Shores Anderson.
Those serving as pallbearers are Jacob Sparkman, Brandon Rice, Jeremy Carr, Josh Sparkman, Derrick Sparkman, Nicholas Sparkman and Tyler Sparkman. Honorary pallbearers will be Howard Hawkins, James Nash, Kenneth Jones, James Green and Johnny Mullins.
