John’s Obituary John S. Polachek, of Perkasie, PA, passed away Friday, May 24, 2019, at Suburban Woods Health & Rehabilitation Center, East Norriton Township, PA. He was 71. Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Joseph R. and Anna M. (Rovnan) Polachek.

He was a U. S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War, serving active duty from 1968 to 1971 and then in the Reserves until 1974. Stationed in Vietnam, he attained the rank of SP5 and was the recipient of a Service Medal with three Bronze Stars. John was employed as a service technician by Eastern Biomedical Services, LLC, Perkasie, for 20 years until 2013.

Previously, he worked for Tri-State Biomedical, Colmar, PA. He was a member of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Hilltown, PA. A member of the Order of the Owl’s Nest, Perkasie, and the Sokol Club, John was active in the Slovak community.

He loved driving fast and especially loved racing cars. John especially enjoyed flying, and he was a licensed helicopter pilot. Additionally, he built and flew his own RotorWay helicopter.

He is survived by two children, Stephanie G. Malone, of Ottsville, PA, and John N. Polachek and his wife Dana, of Norristown, PA; eight grandchildren, Kaleena Polachek, David Cook, Kiersten Polachek, John Polachek, Jr., Breanna Polachek, Sean Polachek, Jason Polachek and Travis Polachek; two great-grandchildren, Leighanna and Jaylen; three brothers, Joseph R. Polachek and his wife Billie, Michael Polachek and his wife Karen, George Polachek and his wife Peggy, all of Perkasie; and a sister, Theresa A. Phillips, of Sellersville, PA. He was preceded in death by two sons-in-law, Daniel LaVecchia and Sean Malone. Family and friends are invited to attend his viewing to be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Sunday, June 2, 2019, at the Bernard Suess Funeral Home, 606 Arch Street, Perkasie, PA.

Interment with military honors will be held at 9:00 AM on Tuesday, June 4, 2019, at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Road, Newtown, PA 18940.
