Johnny “Dene”‘s Obituary Johnny E. Bowden 1936 -2018 Johnny E. Bowden, 82, passed away on Monday, December 3, 2018, surrounded by his family at Pleasant Valley Health Care Center. Johnny was born on July 3, 1936 to Myrtle (Huitt) and Arnie Bowden in Muskogee, Oklahoma. He was known by his close friends and family as “Dene”.

Dene is a graduate of Muskogee Central High School. He worked at Container Corporation until his retirement. Dene enjoyed his time working outside mowing and taking care of his land.

He loved his pecan tree. Dene was an avid reader of western books and known to read an entire book in a day. Dene was preceded in death by parents; and sister, Methalee Jakes.

He is survived by his children, Johnny and Carol Bowden of Oklahoma City, Bill and Terry Bowden of Muskogee, Jim and Serena Bowden of Wellington, Kansas; sister, Betty Breiger of Broken Arrow; grandchildren, Brandon Bowden and wife Shannon of Muskogee, Aaron Bowden and wife Candace of Muskogee; great-grandchildren, Kellen, Gunner, Carson, Titan, Sadie, and Cade. The family would like to express a very special thank you to the staff at Pleasant Valley Health Care Center. A funeral service celebrating the life of Johnny “Dene” Bowden will be held 10:00 am, Thursday, December 6, 2018 at the Bradley Belltower Chapel with Pastor Ron Pugh officiating.

Burial will follow at Agnew Cemetery with Brandon Bowden, Aaron Bowden, Kellen Bowden, Gunner Bowden, Carson Bowden, and Titan Bowden serving as pallbearers. Services are under the direction of Bradley Funeral and Cremation Service. Friends may send condolences to the family at www.
