William’s Obituary William “Bill” McBee, 82, passed from this life to his eternal home on January 17, 2019 in Muskogee, Oklahoma. He was born August 1, 1936 in Hinton, Oklahoma to Raymond Henry and Ruby Lucille McBee. Bill was raised on a farm near Porum, OK and attended school at Blackjack.

He attended Warner high school graduating as the class valedictorian and graduated from Connors Junior College. While in high school, he became friends with his high school sweetheart, Lillian, in her freshman year. They married in 1955 celebrating almost 64 years of marriage.

Their union was blessed with two children, Bill McBee, Jr. and Sharon Ann LaBounty. He and Lillian lived in four different states during his career with Skelly Oil Company. They moved back to Warner and Bill began his 30 year career with the Union Pacific Railroad.

He worked as a brakeman/conductor before retirement. Bill was active in his community. In addition to founding the Warner Volunteer Fire Department and serving as a volunteer fireman, he served as the town clerk, member of Jaycees, Masonic Lodge, and the Shriners.

As a Shriner, he served as a driver to the Shriners Hospital, worked basketball tournaments and the circus. Bill was the kind of person willing to help wherever needed. Bill was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife Lillian; children, William Perry, Jr. and Sharon LaBounty and husband Tony; brother, Raymond and wife Mable of Warner; sisters, Delores Paige of Coweta, Geneva Helms and husband RC of New Caney, TX; grandchildren, Shane LaBounty and wife Julia, Josh LaBounty and wife Rachael; great-grandchildren, Cameron, Nathan, Ella, Paisley and Easton. A funeral service celebrating Bill’s life will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at the Warner Assembly of God church with pastors Clarence Guthrie and Josh McElyea officiating. Burial will follow at the Warner Memorial Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm Monday with open visitation until 7:00 pm, January 21, 2019 at Bradley Belltower Chapel in Muskogee, OK. Services are under the direction of Bradley Funeral Service, Muskogee, Oklahoma. Condolences may be sent to the family at family@bradleyfuneralservice.com.
