Joseph C. “Joe” Sidoti, 83, of Sandusky, passed away peacefully early Sunday morning, July 29, 2018, surrounded by his family at the Ohio Veterans Home, Sandusky. Born on June 7. 1935, in Bellevue, OH the son of Samuel Joseph and Sadie (Palazzo) Sidoti.

He was a 1953 graduate of Sandusky High School. Joe was a veteran, having served his country honorably during the Korean Conflict as a member of the U.S. Army. Joe had always been involved in the auto industry since the age of 11, through the family businesses, of Palazzo Brothers Sohio, Palazzo & Sidoti Motors, and later with his brother, Sam, he had owned and operated Sidoti Automotive, Inc. for many years, retiring in 2010.

He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, the AMVETS Post # 17, the VFW. Post # 2529 and the American Legion Post # 83.

Joe is survived by his daughter, Sara J. (Jerry) McLaughlin of Sandusky; a son, Joseph N. Sidoti of Sandusky; three grandchildren, Jeffrey (Ashlea) Schweinfurth, Jessica (Adam) Parton and Chandler Schweinfurth; five great-grandchildren, Tony, Reid, Lily, Aubrey, and Ben; a brother, Sam (Chris) Sidoti of Sandusky; and a nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife of 59 years, Mildred J. “Janet” (Missig) Sidoti on May 6, 2017. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 1, 2018, from 4 – 7 pm at the David F. Koch Funeral and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky.

Prayers will be recited Thursday morning, August 2, 2018 at 9:40 am at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 510 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky. Fr.

Jeff Walker officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Sandusky. Military honors will be conducted by the American Legion Color Guard, Post # 83.

Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 510 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky, OH 44870 or to the Humane Society of Erie County, 1911 Superior Street, Sandusky, OH 44870.
