Joseph Daniel Blaze February 21, 1926 – December 29, 2018 Joseph Daniel “Chubba” Blaze, age 92, passed away on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at the Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center. He was born on February 21, 1926 in Toledo, OH to Joseph and Josephine (Hester) Blaze. Joseph was a proud Iron Worker and lifelong member of Iron Workers Union Local 55.

A recipient of the Union’s 65 year pin, he also served as their Assistant Business Agent. He was a Veteran of the US Army, and a longtime parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Toledo. Joseph is survived by his son, Joseph Daniel Blaze II and his wife Marge; daughter, Jackie Bofia; 8 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brothers, Clarence and Frank; and sister, Josephine.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary Abbott Blaze; sons, Jeffery S. and James G. Blaze; daughter, Judy Guerrero; and sisters, Rosie and Margaret. Born: February 21, 1926 Death: December 29, 2018 Visitation will be Thursday, January 3, from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. at Sujkowski Funeral Home Northpointe, 114 E. Alexis Rd. The Funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. in the funeral home with Rev.

Matthew R. Rader presiding. Interment with Military Honors led by members of VFW Post 606 and the US Army will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Memorial tributes may be given to a charity of the donor’s choice.
