Mr. Grimes graduated from Huntingdon College and the Harrison School of Pharmacy Auburn University. He was the owner/pharmacist of City Drug Company of Opp, AL for 36 years.

Mr. Grimes was preceded in death by his first wife, Lucille Tipton Grimes; parents, L.C. and Sarah Whigham Grimes; brothers, Louie F. Grimes Sr. and Bill Grimes. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Mavis Cotten Grimes; daughter and son-in-law, Myra Lunsford Bedsole & Tim; step-daughter, Camilla Blasi Zarzaur; step-son, Chad (Nikki) Blasi; and mother-in-law, Odie Lee Rainer; grandchildren, Courtney Lunsford, C.J. Lunsford, Bella Brindley, Zoe Zarzaur, Nix and Hale Blasi. A graveside service for Mr. Grimes will be conducted 1:00 PM Sunday, December 30, 2018 at Lowery Church of Christ Cemetery with Greg Fleming officiating.

Serving as pall bearers will be Chad Blasi, Tim Bedsole, Louie F. Grimes Jr., David Grimes, Josh Grimes and John Cotten. Wyatt Funeral Home of Opp, AL is serving the Grimes family.
