Obituary for Joseph “Jody” Clifton Mangum Joseph “Jody” Clifton Mangum, 44, of 230 East Wainman Ave. , Asheboro, NC, died on Sunday, June 3, 2018 at Wake Forest Baptist Health in Winston-Salem, NC after a decline in health. Mr. Mangum was born in Danville, VA, on September 6, 1973, a son of Richard Andrew Mangum and Jane Overby Turner.

He lived most of his life in the Danville area before moving to Asheboro in 2012. He worked as an electrician for Delta Plumbing and Electrical in Asheboro. He was a member of North Ridge Church.

In his spare time, he loved music and playing the guitar. He was a veteran who proudly served his country in the US Navy. On November 24, 2013, he married Laura Jean Mangum, who survives of the residence.

Survivors include a step father, James Lee Turner; a step son, Matthew Gery and wife Christen; a step daughter, Kristina Gery; a sister, Andrea Jones and husband Mickey; a step brother, Michael Turner and wife Brandy; a uncle, Lonnie Mangum and wife Pat; two nephews, Nicholas Jones and Brandon Jones; a niece, Hailey Turner; and a step nephew, Justin Anderson. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 8, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at the Wrenn-Yeatts Westover Chapel with the Reverend Duane Caldwell officiating. Interment will follow in Danville Memorial Gardens with military honors conducted by the US Navy and the American Legion Post 1097.

The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at the funeral home and at other times will be at the residence of his mother, 493 Cedarbrook Dr., Danville, VA, 24541.
