OBITUARY Joseph “Joe” Jerry Mull March 24, 1932 – July 24, 2018 Play Tribute Movie Waynesville, NC – Joseph Jerry Mull, 86, was promoted to his heavenly home on July 24, 2018 at his residence. He was born on March 24, 1932 to the late Charlie and Lela Mull. Joe served in the US Army and was stationed in Germany.

He was the owner and operator of Joe Mull Trucking in Haywood County. He was a member of the Holly Grove Freewill Baptist Church for 46 years. He loved hunting, fishing, and gospel singing.

He sang with several gospel groups over the years including Sojourners and Apple Tree Quartet. He also had a love for being around his family and friends telling stories. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Erma Lee Shelton Mull; infant son, Joseph Dewey Mull; brothers, Lloyd, Sylvester “Doc”, and Claude Mull; sisters, Nancy Shuler, Dorothy McGaha, and Mattie Jackson.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Catherine Mull; daughters, Kathleen Creasman (Charlie), Vicky Walgreen (Alvin), Brenda Blanton (David), and Michelle Mull (Wilburn Sutton); sons, Wendall Mull (Kaye) and Jerry Wood; brothers, Clint “Johnny” Mull, Clyde Mull, Mack Mull (Donna Faye); sisters, Hermie Piper, Geraldine Owen and Edith “Sis” Valentine; sister in law, Mae Mull; grandchildren, Mandy Deal, Howard “Buck” Smith (Christa), Kimberly Smith (Jacob), Charlie Creasman (Melissa), Micheal Smith (Sarah), Miranda Shuler (John), Matthew Smith, and Megan Walgreen; many great grandchildren; great great grandchildren and many extended adopted family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Friday, July, 27, 2018 in the chapel of Garrett Funeral Home with the Reverend Charlie Creasman, Reverend Jerry Nelson and Reverend Marvin Rogers officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 5 pm to 8 pm at the funeral home.

At other times the family will receive friends at the home. Burial will be held at a later date at Rocky Branch Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Haywood County Schools Foundations, c/o Needy Students Fund, 1230 N. Main St., Waynesville, NC 28786.
