Josephine Frances Conole (nee Basso) A life long resident of Shorewood, Wisconsin, Josephine was Born to Eternal Life at the age of 92 years on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at the Milwaukee Catholic Home. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Thomas Conole and her dear parents, Peter and Anna Basso. Jo was the loving mother of Kathryn (Richard Griepentrog) Conole, Brian (Patricia) Conole and Mary (John) Poehlmann and the cherished grandma of Emily (Luther) Faulk, Elizabeth (fiance’ Michael Nord) Poehlmann, Kristen (fiance’ Robert Hanson) Poehlmann and Caroline Conole.

She was also preceded in death by her siblings Louis Basso and Irene Traczewitz and she is further survived by her sisters-in-law Elizabeth Basso, Grace Conole and Josephine Conole, in addition to other relatives and friends. A visitation will be held for Jo on Saturday, April 28, 2018, from 10am until the time of Mass of Christian Burial at 11am, all at the Milwaukee Catholic Home Residence, St. Anne Chapel, 2462 North Prospect Avenue, Milwaukee, Wisconsin 53211. Private interment will take place next to her husband at Holy Cross Cemetery in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Jo was a lifelong active member of St. Robert Parish and a former employee of the Catholic Herald newspaper. She was also a volunteer for the Ladies of Charity, St. Gall’s Meal Program and Columbia Hospital. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Milwaukee Catholic Home, Dominican High School or the charity of your choice.
