Josephine G. Martinez, 92, of Waxahachie, TX entered into eternal rest Wednesday, March 3, 2019 at her residence. Josephine was born August 4, 1926 to Damacio and Virginia Gonzalez in San Antonio, TX. Josephine married Antonio Martinez Jr. on February 27, 1960 in San Antonio, TX.

Together they had 6 children Anita, Janie, Donald, Josephine, Antonio and Mackie. Josephine and Antonio attended Templo Alpha Omega Baptist Church in Waxahachie, TX where she loved cooking for various church function. She always enjoyed cooking for her friends and family and if you did not show up on time there was a good chance that there was no food left and she would reply with “you should have arrived earlier”.

She was an avid reader of cook book and loved to spoil her children and especially her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her great-great grandchildren. Josephine is survived by her husband of 59 years Antonio. Children Anita, Janie, Donald, Josephine, Antonio and Mackie.

17 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Domacio and Virigina Gonzalez, brothers Chito and Willie Gonzalez, sisters Aurelia Alvarez and Helen Rosas and son-in-law’s Manuel Ortiz and David Dull. Friends and family are encouraged to gather for a time of visitation Tuesday, March 12, 2019 from 6 to 8 in the evening at Wayne Boze Funeral Home in Waxahachie.

Services celebrating Josephine’s life will be held at 10 o’clock in the morning on Wednesday, March 13, 2014 in the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel at Wayne Boze Funeral Home. Josephine will be laid to rest at 1 o’clock in the afternoon at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery. Arrangements especially for the Martinez family by Wayne Boze Funeral Home.
