Josephine Joseph Dazey , December 10, 1928 — June 01, 2018

Josephine Dazey, 89, of Chandler, IN, passed away at 2:02 p.m. on Friday, June 1, 2018 at home. Josephine was born to Levi and Viola (Adams) Joseph on December 10, 1928 in Premium, KY where she lived until she married Russell Dazey on December 20, 1947. For the first five years after marrying Russell, Josephine lived on a farm near Union Star, MO where she was an active member of Flag Springs Baptist Church.

For the rest of her years, Josephine lived in Kentucky and Indiana. Josephine served in many roles over the years, including Sunday School and Vacation Bible School teacher, at Raikes Hill Baptist Church, Patesville Baptist Church, New Hope Baptist Church and New Haven Baptist Church. She was currently a member of Creekside Baptist Church.

Josephine was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She served the Lord as a faithful pastor’s wife and was a great help to her husband. Josephine is survived by sons, Richard Dazey (Deanna) of Winchester, KY and David Dazey (Carol) of Chandler, IN; daughters, Karen Temple (Greg) of Bloomington, IN and Debera Witty (Charlie) of Lebanon, IL; twin sister, Maggie Joseph of Premium, KY; sister, Mary Tyree of Whitesburg, KY; brother, Everett Joseph of Premium, KY; grandchildren, Matthew Temple (Kristina) of Ellettsville, IN, Sarah Bayne (Bill) of Gosport, IN, Cynthia Allen (Gary) of West Row,England, Pamela Meadows (Derrick) of Winchester, KY, Mark Dazey (Kari) of Shelbyville, KY, Beth Young (Tim) of Chandler, IN, Nathan Dazey (Rachel) of Chandler, IN, Shannon Witty (Art) of Eureka, MO, and Dustin Witty, of Lebanon, IL; and great grandchildren, Garrison, Dyanna, Samantha, Charlotte, Madelyn, Carter, Hayden, Madison, Kara, Miley, Kaden, Connor, Caitlyn, Harper, Alexandria, Paige, and Isaac.

Josephine is preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband of 68 years, Russell. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue with Pastor Jack Neighbors officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Newburgh, IN.
