OBITUARY Joy Denny Tafaro March 14, 1929 – December 3, 2018 Joy Rita Tafaro passed away peacefully on Monday, December 3, 2018, at the age of 89. Joy was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 61 years, Peter Natale Tafaro; her parents, Gertrude Denny Duplaa, and Frederick Denny, Jr.; brothers, Frederick and August Denny. She will be lovingly remembered forever by her sister in law, Rosemary Tafaro; her children, Rosario and his wife Patrice, Patricia and her husband, Dr. Justin Hendricks, Christopher and his wife Lynda, Craig and his wife Arlene.

Known as “Honey” by her eight grandchildren, she was dearly loved by Peter (Lauren) Tafaro, Jill Tufaro, Emily Joy Hendricks, Alexa, Tanner, Jordan, Riley and Raegan Tafaro. Also, three great-grandchildren, Vincent Tufaro, Connor, and Cameron Tafaro. A native of New Orleans until Katrina.

Joy was a devout Catholic. She attended St. James Major and graduated from Roubain High School. She and Peter were married at St. Matthias Church and were parishioners at St. Frances Cabrini.

Joy dedicated her life to being the best wife, mother and grandmother a lady could be. She was a natural perfectionist and the most quintessentially feminine person most people ever had the pleasure of knowing. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass, held in the chapel at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home on Monday, December 10, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. Inurnment will follow at All Saints Mausoleum.
