Obituary Joyce Palla February 6, 1932 – February 27, 2019 Joyce Oree Bowman Palla went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, February 27th. She was born on February 6, 1932, to Leslie Leroy Bowman and Clyde Caraway Bowman. Joyce is preceded in death by her husband Edward Palla, her mother and father; her brothers, Warner Lee Bowman and Leslie Bowman Jr.; her sister, Doris Beverley; her sons, Bob and Clyde Bird; her grandchildren Kim and Leigh Bird, and Tommy Bird; and her great-granddaughter, Jenny Jennings.

She is survived by her children, Richard Bird and wife Shirley; daughter in law Izzandra Bird; Michael Bird, Larry Bird and wife Mary, Debra Wilcox and husband Tony, and Leslie and wife Julianne Palla, and stepson Kenny Palla and wife Teresa. She is also survived by her grandchildren David (Alecia), Jonathon and Christine Bird, Robby (Suzanne) and Tanya Bird, Michelle Crutchfield (Clark) and Jennifer Hendricks (Dwayne), Naomi Bird, Lee Walters, John and Wesley Bird, Amy Raymond (Brandon), Holly Bryant (Kyle), Blayn Palla Crandall (James), Lacey, Jaymi, Brynna Palla, Amy Jaks and Chris Palla. She is also survived by 16 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter.

In 1956 Joyce was named March of Dimes Texas Polio Mother of the Year. She retired from the Kendall County Sheriff’s office after many years of service with the county as a 911 dispatcher. She loved crocheting, playing games, and spending time with family.

We know she is at peace, free from all pain and has received her new body that she so looked forward to. We know Jesus met her with the words we all long to hear, “Well done good and faithful servant”. 2 Corinthians 5: For we know that when this tent we live in now is taken down—when we die and leave these bodies—we will have wonderful new bodies in heaven, homes that will be ours forevermore, made for us by God himself and not by human hands.
