OBITUARY Juan E. Vazquez May 10, 1933 – February 2, 2019 Juan E. Vazquez passed away peacefully at his home on February 2, 2019 at the age of 85. He was the beloved husband of Silvia Vazquez for 63 years. He was born on May 10, 1933 to Juan and Estrella Vazquez.

On December 20, 1955, he married Silvia Hernandez in Manzanillo, Cuba. Juan and Silvia moved to the United States from Cuba in 1960. He worked in the hotel industry at several major hotels in New Orleans.

Juan worked hard to make a life for his family in the United States and leaves a great legacy to all who knew him. He was a kindhearted, loving man who adored his family and was always happy to see them. He is survived by his wife Silvia, his son Juan F. Vazquez (Gina), his two grandchildren Cecilia and Jonathan Vazquez, and his brother Cesar Vazquez.

He was preceded in death by his brother Teddy Vazquez. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services at St. Christopher the Martyr, 309 Manson Avenue in Metairie, on Saturday, February 9, 2019 at 12 pm.

Visitation will begin at 10:30 am. Interment will be private. Arrangements have been made by Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home.
