Juanita Mildred “Nita” Wentz Barton, 74, passed away Monday, April 30, 2018 at the home of her daughter in Pisgah Forest, NC. She is preceded in death by her father, Lloyd Oren Wentz; mother, Mildred Rachel Wilcox Wentz; husband Melvin R. Barton; brothers: Loren Wentz, Barton Wentz, and Keith Wentz. Juanita worked for the Tax Assessor’s Office in Transylvania County for 30 + years.

After retirement she went back to school to become a CNA and worked at College Walk for 7 years. Juanita was a square dancer with Sylvan Squares and enjoyed sewing. She was a member of Brevard Davidson River Presbyterian Church and loved to serve her church and community.

Surviving Juanita are her sons: Bernard Gene Clanton of Conifer, CO, Bryan Fred Clanton of Rosman, NC, Brad Lee Clanton of Pisgah Forest, NC; daughter, Kimberley Plemmons and husband Garry (Tank) of Pisgah Forest, NC; brother, Reid Wentz of Sarasota, FL; granddaughters: Amber Austin of Destin, FL; Macy Plemmons Puckett of Louisville, KY, Callie Plemmons of Pisgah Forest, NC, Kala Barton of Jacksonville, FL, Meredith Barton of Brevard, NC, ; great grandson, Ransom Lewis Puckett of Louisville, KY; stepsons: David Barton and wife Sandy of Plantation, FL, Kenneth Barton and wife Elizabeth of Brevard, NC; step daughter, Elaine Weeks and husband Ronnie of Green Cove Springs, FL. A memorial service will be held 10:00 AM, on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at Davidson River Presbyterian Church with reception to follow service. Rev.

Keith Thompson will be officiating. Burial will take place at Chapel Hill Gardens, Dade City, FL. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Four Seasons Hospice volunteer Nancy,: Gail McMahon, Elizabeth Barton, Little River Baptist Church family, BDRPC family and all the neighbors who looked out for Nita.
