William ‘Bill’ George Meece, 82, of Brevard peacefully passed away on Sunday, June 17, 2018 surrounded by family. He was born on August 8, 1935 to Myrtle Meece and Tillman Meece of Brevard. In addition to his parents, Bill is preceded in death by his siblings, Paul Meece, Charles Lee Meece, David Meece, Wayne Garren, Sandra Garren and Betty McGaha.

He is survived by his children, Todd Meece of Brevard, Tim Meece of Brevard and Tina Meece Messer of Waynesville; grandchildren, Shani Kitchen of Cashiers, Treva Stone of Brevard, Micaela Meece of Brevard and Aydan Messer of Waynesville; great-grandson, Wade Stone of Brevard; sister, Mary Gillespie of Brevard; and friends C. E. Gillespie of Brevard, Gene McCrary of Brevard, Troy Mathis of Brevard and Roland Hoots of Hendersonville. Bill served in the US Army, and later retired from the DuPont plant. A receiving of friends will be held on Sunday, June 24, 2018 from 2:00 PM to 3:40 PM with a memorial service following from 3:40 PM-4:00 PM at Moody-Connolly Funeral Home, 181 South Caldwell Street, Brevard, NC 28712.
