Steve Fairchild, 71, of Balsam Grove, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 14, 2018 at the Transylvania Regional Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. He was an unique and caring individual that touched the lives of all who knew him. He enjoyed the outdoors and raising beautiful gardens.

He will be forever missed. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mable Grace Wilson Fairchild and Paul Jackson Fairchild as well as two brothers, Dale and Billy Fairchild. He is survived by two brothers, Tommy Fairchild and wife, Stella of Balsam Grove, NC; and Jimmy Fairchild and wife Laura of Burnsville, NC; two sisters, Louse Fairchild Green and husband Ray of Johnson City, TN and Virginia Faye Fairchild McCanless of Burnsville, NC.

Also, several nieces and nephews. The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Tommy and Stella Fairchild for being so loving and devoted to Steve’s care.
