Joseph Anthony “Joe” Mahonchak, 74, of Asheville passed away Thursday, June 7, 2018 at the CarePartners Solace Center in Asheville, NC. Joseph was born in Passaic, NJ to the late Joseph Mahonchak and Lucy Elizabeth Patierno Mahonchak. He served our country in the United States Marine Corps Reserve from 1962 to 1965.

Among his many hobbies, he enjoyed building and flying RC Aircrafts, woodworking, painting, reading, photography, and history. He was a member of St. Eugene’s Catholic Church in Asheville. Surviving Joseph is his loving wife of 9 years, Margaret Pike, of Asheville; son, Joseph A. Mahonchak (Louise); daughter, Kimberly Spencer (David); grandchildren: Joseph Anthony Mahonchak III, Jessica Autumn Mahonchak, Christian Hugo Sweeny, and Brandon Charles Duralia, all of Tampa, FL.

A private funeral mass will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation toward ALS research.
