Judith A. (Levecque) Murdock, 78, of Old Orchard Beach died Monday July 2, 2018, at home with her loving family by her side, just one-day shy of her 79th birthday. She was born July 3, 1939 in Biddeford a daughter of Phillip and Catherine (Mullen) Levecque. She graduated from Old Orchard Beach High School, class of 1957.

On August 26, 1962 she married Robert Murdock in Portsmouth, NH. They spent 20 years together until his death in 1982. She worked several years for the FBI in Washington DC in fingerprint analysis.

She then went on to the Portland Police Department as a receptionist, where she met her husband, Robert. They moved to Mass and she stopped working to raise her daughter. In the late 70’s she returned to work as an office manager in a medical office.

In 1980, they moved back to Maine. Home and family were always the most important to her. Her home was always open to family and friends.

Over the years an extra bedroom was always occupied. She always made holidays, whether a birthday or Christmas, memorable. She was known to go overboard.

Many a time she was “caught” sneaking giving Evan $5, just in case. Judy became disabled in 1984, but that did not diminish her jovial personality. Everyone that met Judy remarked on her warmth, her strong hugs and her ever present smile.

Judith loved crossword puzzles and was a master at Scrabble. She enjoyed crocheting, country music and chocolate. She was predeceased by her sisters: Phyllis Picard, Catherine Mallett and Harriet Caouette; and one brother, John Levecque.

Judith is survived by: 1 daughter: Terri O’Donnell and her husband Sean of Old Orchard Beach. 1 grandson: Evan O’Donnell of Old Orchard Beach 3 brothers: Phillip, David, and Thomas Levecque 15 nieces and nephews In addition to her biological family, she was blessed to have the following as a second “family”: Elizabeth Linton of Saco, her in home care provider for 18 years. Her children, Erin, Brenton and Jade.

She was blessed to see them grow up, get married and have children of their own, which include Hayley and Lilianna. Vassie (Ladakakos) Fowler of Biddeford, who came into her life (and heart) in 1982. She considered her a daughter.

Bethany Hyde, Saco Maine, Evan’s girlfriend. Who she hopes loves Evan as much as she did. Burial will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery in Saco on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at 11:00 a.m., attendees are asked to wear blue, her favorite color, to her service.

A special and most appreciated thank you to Hospice of Southern Maine, who provided Judy the care and love to stay home. Donations in Judith’s name may be made to either the Barbra Bush Children’s Hospital, 22 Bramhall St, Portland, ME 04102 or to Hospice of Southern Maine, 180 US Route, Scarborough, ME 04074.
