Obituary for Judith “Judy” Haag Dateline: North Hollywood, CA Judith H. Haag, 78, of North Hollywood, California passed away Saturday, May 19, 2018 at St. Josephs Hospital in Burbank, CA. She was born March 11, 1940 in Godfrey, IL, the daughter of Henry F. Haag and Madalyn C. (Sutton) Haag. Judith graduated from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale with a B.S. degree in communications and a minor in radio and television.

Judith taught speech at Jerseyville High School for a number of years. She moved to California and was a writing consultant, member of the Sherlock Holmes Society of Los Angeles, and general manager for CMC Scripts Service for many years. Judith also was a co-writer with Hillis Cole Jr., owner of CMC Scripts Service.

They co-wrote the Complete Guide to Standard Script Formats Part 1: The Screenplay and Part II: Taped Formats for Television. They had great success with the books, and were in print for 10 years. Judith enjoyed travel both internationally and state side.

She also enjoyed reading, cooking, and her greatest joy was spending time with family and her friends. She is survived by her cousins, Virginia Ilch of Godfrey, Jean Finch of Ballwin, MO, John (Heather) Finch of Tennessee and numerous cousins, and a sister-in-law, Roberta Haag of Jerseyville. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Michael Haag, aunt and uncles, Bill (Bonnie) Finch, Charles (Gertrude) Cotter, and Gene (Elizabeth) Schippert.

A cremation and funeral service was held on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at Valley Funeral Home in Burbank, CA. A private burial service was held Saturday, June 9, 2018 at Bethany Cemetery in Godfrey, IL. Gent Funeral Home in Alton was in charge of arrangements.
