Obituary for Ms. Judy A Messer Ms. Judy Ann Messer, 65, of Clayton, Georgia passed away Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at her home. Judy was born in Rosman, North Carolina, daughter of the late Arthur Buren and Geneva Dodson Morgan. She was a veteran of the United States Army, and worked as a caretaker of Knights Rest Farm.

Judy enjoyed gardening, and achieved the designation of Master Gardener. Spending time with her family and her grandchildren brought her great joy. Judy is survived by two sons: Josh Messer and his wife, Laura, and Matt Messer, all of Clayton; and four precious grandchildren: Riley, Morgan, Case, and Anson.

She also leaves behind a dear friend, Mr. Boyd Lee Messer, to whom she was previously married for 28 years; one brother, five sisters, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Judy was preceded in death by five brothers. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2018 beginning at 12:30 p.m. at Clayton Baptist Church; Clayton, Ga.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will follow, with Pastor Joey Thompson as officiant. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105. Arrangements for Ms. Judy Ann Messer are in the care of Hicks Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Elberton.
