Obituary for Jules “Jay” Aloysius Dornier III Jules Aloysius Dornier III, “Jay”, a native of Convent, LA and resident of Thibodaux, LA for 47 years died after a long battle of health issues at age 77. He was a graduate of Ascension Catholic High School in Donaldsonville. He majored in Petroleum Chemical Engineering at LSU and was also a member of Phi Kappa Theta fraternity.

He had an amazing career as an engineer traveling around the world and designing heavy equipment. He loved fishing with his wife and 3 daughters. In retirement he enjoyed singing in St Joseph Choir for 25 years and Houma choral Les Amis de la Chanson.

He is survived by his wife of almost 55 years, Patricia Kenney Dornier, daughters Julie Ann Dornier, Cathy Lucille Dornier, and Jeanine Dornier Romero (Eric Paul), granddaughter Alyssa Michelle Romero and grandson Ethan Jules Romero. He is also survived by his sisters Jocelyn LeBouef (Harley), Janie Dawson and nephews Ed LeBouef, Ray LeBouef, Edward Dawson (Amy Fowler ) and niece Dr. Amy Tatsas (Dr. Alon ). He was preceded in death by his father Jules A. Dornier Jr, mother, Lucille Badeaux Dornier.

A special thank you goes out to Dr Chester Boudreaux, Dr Micheal Hebert, Dr Allen Vander, Dr Bart Denys, and Dr Walter Simoneaux and the many health care nurses and Lafourche Home for the Aged. Family and friends are welcomed to attend services on Saturday May 12th at St. Joseph Co Cathedral 721 Canal Blvd in Thibodaux. Visitation will be from 9:00 am -12:00 noon, with mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 noon.
