Born on May 23, 1930 in Stanley, Virginia, he was the son of Lloyd F. Getts and Julia (Sprinkle) Getts. He was of the Pentecostal Faith Mr. Getts was a retired farmer having farmed in the Rippon Area for many years.

He is survived by three sons; Lamont Getts, of Winchester, Virginia, Ricky Getts, of Rippon, and Tracy Getts, of Ranson, and two daughters; Debra Coffman, of Charles Town, and Angela Rash, of Rippon, Nine grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife; Daisy Lorraine (Snyder) Getts who died June 11, 2017, three brothers; Elmer Getts, Robert Getts and Randy Getts, and two sisters; Hazel Rankin and Alma Lanham. Private Graveside Service.
