June Clara (Kirmse) Tredeau, 89, of Greenland was called by the Lord to once again be with the love of her life and the man that adored her for over half a century. June passed away on Sunday, February 10, 2019 in the caring hands of the staff at Ontonagon Aspirus Long-Term Care. She was born on November 8, 1929 to the late Reinhold and Minnie Kirmse.

June left the family farm to work at a chair factory in Port Washington, Wisconsin where she met her future husband and best friend Lester Tredeau. They were married on August 5, 1950. Over the next 14 years they built a tightly bonded Christian family of 8 children and lived on Pine St. in Greenland, MI.

Their entire family was very active in the St. Peter and St. Paul Catholic Church in Greenland. In between rearing 8 children, June was also known to style numerous lady’s hair, bring food to neighbors, while running her furniture upholstery business in their home to help make ends meet. To cap it off she also kept the neighborhood kids entertained for hours with her creative treats and games.

June’s beauty, selfless acts of kindness, work ethic, positive attitude and countless attributes were instilled in all of her children. June and Lester lead their lives as examples of good-hearted people. June is survived and will be missed by all of her children, Rose Lee (Mark) Slocum of Greenland, Michigan; Gerald (Joyce) Tredeau of Marquette, Michigan; Gary (Kim) Tredeau of Mineral Bluff, Georgia; Allen (Lynn) Tredeau of Melba, Idaho; Marty (Ruth) Tredeau of Sparta, Wisconsin; Wendy (Steve) Santti of Pelkie, Michigan; Tammy (Bill) LaBissoniere of Dollar Bay, Michigan, and Ray (Paula) Trudeau of New Albany, Ohio; her 22 grandchildren; and her 20 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester Tredeau; her parents; her sisters Ruth, Dorothy, Laverne, Doris, and brother Arno Kirmse. Visitation services will be held at the Cane Funeral Home in Ontonagon on Tuesday, February 19, 2019 from 5 pm to 8 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Rockland, MI on Wednesday, February 20th at 11 am.

Friends may also call at the church 1 hour prior to the start of Mass. Burial will be in the spring in the Maple Grove Cemetery in Greenland, MI.
