Katherine A. “Kathy” Bennett, age 48 of rural Shullsburg, WI passed away on Thursday, September 13, 2018 at UW-Hospital in Madison, WI surrounded by her family. She was born March 11, 1970 in Richland Center, WI the daughter of Garry and Kay (Deal) Sheire. Kathy graduated from Bloomington High School in 1988 and later went on to receive her Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Wisconsin – Platteville.

Kathy is survived by her husband Alan at home; her mother: Kay Sheire of Praire du Chien, WI; two children: Brianna King of Dubuque, IA and Noah King of Fennimore, WI; two step-children: Patrick (Amanda) Bennett of Hazel Green, WI and Blair Bennett of Darlington; one grandson: Anthony Murillo and one granddaughter: Savannah Bennett on the way; three siblings: Jason Sheire of Belmont, WI; Amy (Marty) Laufenberg of Cassville, WI, and Sherri (Russ) Kinley of Prairie du Chien. She was preceded in death by her father; her mother-in-law: Dianna Bennett; her paternal grandparents: Sev (Alberta) Rogstad; and her maternal grandparents: John (Carol) Deal. Kathy was a member of Darlington United Methodist Church in Darlington.

She enjoyed baking, cooking, and Christmas music. She loved to ride her motorcycle with her husband Al and their friends. She always found a reason to enjoy the outdoors, whether it be on her bike or doing yard work.

She cherished her family, especially her children more than anything else in the world. She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her family and friends. A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, September 23, 2018 at 4:00 P.M. at Darlington United Methodist Church (546 Park Place, Darlington) with Rev.

Angela Utter officiating. A visitation will be held Sunday, September 23, 2018 from 2:00 P.M. until the time of services at the church. The Erickson Funeral Home in Darlington is serving the family.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Kathy’s name.
