Rogersville: Katherine “Kitty” Ellis, age 74 of Rogersville, passed away, Monday, February 4, 2019. She was a member of Caney Creek Missionary Baptist Church. Mrs. Ellis was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Ray Ellis; parents, George Washington and Helen Rose Jones; grandsons, David “Skeet” Ferrell Courtney and Colin James Ray Ellis; sisters, Barbara Sanders, Mary Marsee and Shirley Whisman.

She is survived by her daughters, Kathy Courtney and Linda Gibbs; son, Eugene “Jamie” Ellis and wife, Kristina all of Rogersville; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; sisters, Betty Fannon and husband, Charlie of Big Stone Gap, VA, Mabel Forbes and husband, Tony of Toledo, OH; brother, Donald Washington Jones and wife, Sandra of Pennington Gap, VA; several nieces and nephews. Visitation hours will be 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., Wednesday, February 6, 2019 at Broome Funeral Home, Rogersville. Funeral service will be conducted 7:00 P.M., Wednesday, February 6, 2019 in the funeral home chapel with Rev.

Douglas Ferrell and Rev. Franklin Barnette officiating. Graveside service will be 1:00 P.M., Thursday, February 7, 2019 at Magnolia Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery.
