HOLYOKE Kathleen A. (Harris) Hamelin, 66, of Holyoke, passed away on Sunday, June 24, 2018 at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. She was born in Holyoke, daughter of the late George and Catherine (Moriarty) Harris and attended local schools. Kathy was employed as a CNA at several area nursing homes.

She was a talented writer and a published poet. Kathy was a beautiful soul and always put others first. She is survived by her husband, Ronald Hamelin, a son Patrick Hamelin of Holyoke, a sister, Sally Meunier and her husband Gene of Chicopee, four brothers: George Harris of Westfield, Thomas Harris and Edward Harris of Chicopee, and Timothy Harris of Holyoke, and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held Friday morning at 9:00 from the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, followed by a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Blessed Sacrament Church. Burial will be held at a later date. Calling hours will be held Thursday, June 28th from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Greater Springfield Special Olympics, 898 Prospect St. Chicopee MA 01020.
