Funeral services will be held on Thursday September 20, 2018 at 10:00 AM at Hubbard Union Cemetery with Rev. Michael Swierz officiating for Kathleen C. Brooks, 100, who died Saturday evening September 15, 2018 at Hospice House. She was born December 29, 1917 in Youngstown, a daughter of Charles E. and Bridget C. Burns LaVan and moved as a child from Youngstown to Hubbard.

Mrs. Brooks worked for General Fireproofing during World War II and later as a bookkeeper for DeBald Office Supplies for 29 years, before retiring in 1989. She was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church having worked the blood bank and in the kitchen for weddings and funerals years ago. She leaves a son, Donald Brooks of Hubbard.

Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters, Mary Louise Kruppa, Agnes Sarah Wissinger and Audrey Rydar. There are no calling hours. Arrangements are being handled by the Kelley-Robb-Cummins Funeral Home.
