Obituary for Mrs. Kathleen M. McLaughlin Kathleen Mary McLaughlin, 58, of Neptune City passed away suddenly Saturday July 7, 2018. Born Kathleen Mary Boyd in Neptune Kathy attended Neptune public schools until her high school graduation in 1978. She worked at Fort Monmouth until its closing in 2011 at which time she transferred to MaGuire Air Force Base where she was employed until her passing.

She was a member of South Belmar First Aid and South Belmar Fire Department and First Aid Ladies Auxiliary. She was also a communicant of St. James Episcopal Church in Bradley Beach. Kathy enjoyed traveling with her best friend and husband, Joe, relaxing poolside at McLaughlins’ Paradise, movies, her annual getaway with the girls from high school, and spending as much time as possible with her grandchildren.

She was an amateur photographer, licensed wedding planner, and an ordained minister. She was a proud American and proud of her Irish heritage. Her greatest rdzt/ of pride were her children.

Kathy cherished her friends, adored her family, and loved her life which she lived to the fullest. Kathy is the daughter of the late James and Mary Boyd, the sister of the late Kenneth Kempfe and Karen Boyd. She leaves behind her inseparable best friend and loving husband Joseph H. McLaughlin and their dog Bridgid, her son Joseph W. McLaughlin and his wife Julie, her daughter Amanda Hattie and her husband Dan, her son Peter Welch, her sisters Kerry Neil and Kristen Duffy, their husbands Todd and Micheal, her grandchildren Elisa and Nathan McLaughlin, Karen and Trent Hattie and several nieces and nephews.
