Obituary for Kathrene B. Johns Dateline: Godfrey Kathrene B. Johns, 92, passed away at 10:45 am Friday September 14, 2018 at Rosewood Care Center. She was born on August 22, 1926 in Alton, IL the daughter of Tony Young and Alice (Pollard) Narup. On June 14, 1947 Kathrene married John T. Johns in Alton.

He preceded her in death on July 14, 2009. She was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church in Alton. Kathrene was a proud sponsor of the Encounter Youth Choir, she enjoyed gardening and taking care of her dog Mitzi.

Kathrene is survived by her two children, Deborah (Wayne) Ruppert and Michael (Kim) Johns; five grandchildren, Amy (Fernando) Sarabia, Brian (Shara) Ruppert, Darren (Gabby) Ruppert, Steven (Erika) Johns, and Ashley (Travis) Thompson; two great grandchildren, Xaden Thompson and Sol Sarabia; and her beloved dog Mitzi. In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond and David Young; a sister, Dorothy Fansler; and an infant sister, Mildred Marie (Bootsie) Pollard. Visitation will be held Sunday, September 23, 2018 from 4:00- 8:00 pm at the Elias Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey.

Funeral services will be Monday, September 24, 2018 at 11:00 am at the Main Street United Methodist Church in Alton, with Pastor Tim Pate officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens. Memorials may be made to the Main Street United Methodist Church or Found a Hound Rescue.
