Obituary for Edsel Celsor Dateline: Judsonia, Arkansas Edsel Celsor, age 90 and formerly of Godfrey passed away Thursday September 13, 2018 at Oakdale Nursing Home in Judsonia, Arkansas. Born January 10, 1928 in Gamaliel, Kentucky he was the son of the late Varney and Mary (Shackelford) Celsor. He was one of 13 children delivered by his physician father, 10 of which were boys.

Edsel retired from Owens Illinois Glass in Godfrey and was a member of the Florissant Church of Christ in Missouri. He served as a U.S. Marine in both WWII and the Korean War. He was devout Christian who loved his family and was a self-made Bible scholar.

He loved all children and was a kind, generous, hard working servant of God who loved to help anyone in need. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Fern (Roehl) Celsor; one son, Steven Celsor (Pam); one daughter, Diane Simmons (Jeff); one sister, Ida Horn; two brothers, Willie Celsor (Doris) and Jimmy Celsor; five grandchildren, Lauren Thomas (Richard), Ryan Simmons, Meagan Celsor, Corey Celsor, Kristen Johnson (Hayden) and one great grandchild, Lynleigh Johnson. Visitation will be 2:00 until service time at 4:00 PM on Sunday, September 16, 2018 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton with Boyd Goodson officiating.

Burial will be private at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey with full military honors by VFW Post 1308. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Christian Family Services, 7955 Big Bend Blvd, Webster Groves, MO 63119. Additional information and online guestbook may be found at www.
