Kay Richard Kay June 4 1939 – June 13, 2018 Kay Richard Kay, age 79, of Amherst passed away on June 13, 2018 at home in Huron, Ohio. Kay was born in Elyria, Ohio on June 4th, 1939 to the late Orville Christian Kay and Mae Lynetta (Spencer) Kay. He graduated from Amherst High School in 1957 and served proudly in the U.S. Army in Germany, attaining the rank of sergeant and serving as a member of the Berlin Brigade.

Kay worked as a plumber/pipefitter, helping to construct… Read More » Lorain City Hall and Davis-Besse power plant before working at the Ford plant in Sandusky for nearly 30 years. During that time, he earned his Bachelor’s of Arts in fine arts from Bowling Green State University. His work includes many fine oil, stained glass and copper enamel pieces.

He was also an avid reader and proud member of Friends of Huron Public Library. He is survived by his daughter, Shelly Kay Harris (Woody) of Hilliard, OH; sons, Timothy of Boston, MA and Patrick (Christie) of Tampa, FL and grandchildren, Amanda Harris, Chad Harris, Thomas Kay, Alexander Kay and Abbie Jackson. Private inurnment will take place at a later date.

Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest contributions be made in memory of Kay to Disabled American Veterans, PO Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301 or at https://secure. dav.org.
