Mary E. (Francis) Heminger, 90, of Sandusky, passed away peacefully early Tuesday morning, June 19, 2018, with her family at her side in the Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky, resulting from a recent fall at her home. Born on July 22, 1927, in Sandusky, the daughter of Charles and Henrietta (Sengstock) Francis. She graduated from Sandusky High School in 1946.

On June 12, 1948, she married Robert H, “Bob” Heminger. For many years, she had worked in the cafeteria for the Sandusky Public Schools, retiring in 1989. Mary enjoyed sewing, crocheting and caring for her family.

She is survived by five daughters, Marian (Terry) Klepper of Castalia, Barbara Wobser of Bay View, Jan (Thomas) Jenkins of Margaretta Twp. , Kathy (Charles) Bango of Sandusky and Beth (John) Ashby of Alabama; a grandson; six granddaughters; a step-granddaughter; four great-grandsons; three great-granddaughters and two step-great-grandchildren; a sister and brother; an aunt; nieces, nephews and cousins; a sister and brother-in-law; and a special friend and neighbor, Lori Loreno. Mary was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 57 years, Robert H. “Bob: Heminger, on April 17, 2006; and a son-in-law, Jerry Wobser (2014).

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 21, 2018, from 5-8 pm at the David F. Koch Funeral and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky. Funeral services will be held Friday morning, June 22, 2018, at 11 am at the funeral home. Rev.

Philip Gardener of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron, OH. The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 502 Bardshar Road, Sandusky, OH 44870 or to Stein Hospice Care, Inc., 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, OH 44870.
