Keith Robert Haasch, 85, Algoma, was called to his eternal home, April 28, 2018. He was born April 3, 1933 to Herbert and Hazel (Woller) Haasch. Keith was drafted into the United States Army in 1953 and served for two years, honorably discharged in April of 1955.
Keith married the love of his life, Carol Baudhuin on August 9, 1958. Keith recently had the honor and great pleasure of taking part in one of the Old Glory Honor Flights to Washington D.C. He was an avid outdoorsman and sportsman. He enjoyed his annual hunting trip up north, cutting as much lawn as he could, spending time at the YMCA, watching his grandchildren’s ball games and cheering on the World Champion Green Bay Packers. He was part of many different clubs and organizations.
He dedicated his time and talents to the Algoma Lions Club, Algoma Boat Club, The Telephone Pioneers, American Legion, was president of the Wood Side Sportsman Club, active in St. Mary Church and he received the Trail Blazer Award for Distinguished Service to Scouting. Keith is survived by his wife Carol, one sister Jean (Richard) Lohrey, two brothers James (Patricia) Baudhuin, and Tom (Jenny) Baudhuin; three sons Lee (Lisa) Haasch, Guy Haasch and Gary (Kathy) Haasch; his grandchildren Katie Haasch, Tyler (Kirsten) Haasch, Mark Ouradnik Jr., Erin Cabino (significant other Ryan), Paige (Tyler) Hackett, Erin (Andy) Mueller, Jenny (significant other Andy) Haasch, Trevor Haasch, Emily Haasch, Eric Haasch, Megan Holcomb, Dalton Holcomb; great grandchildren Brooks, Axel, Olivia and Brooklyn; and his grandpup, Bailey. He was preceded in death by his parents Herbert and Hazel, father and mother-in-law Clarence and Emily Baudhuin, brother and sister-in-law Clarence and Virginia Baudhuin, and his special aunt Pearl Woller.
Family and friends may call at the SCHINDERLE FUNERAL HOME, Algoma, Wednesday, May 2, 2018 from 4 PM until 8 PM. Prayer service 7 PM at the funeral home, Visitation will continue Thursday, May 3, 2018 St. Mary Catholic Church from 9:30 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM with Father Peter Stryker officiating. Military Honor Rites will take place after the Mass.
Burial in the church cemetery. Keith lived his life to the fullest and with the biggest smile on his face. He is loved by many and will be missed by all.
