Kenneth Edward Scott, 67, of Wheelersburg, passed away at SOMC on Monday, May 14, 2018. He was born June 29, 1950 in Portsmouth, a son of the late Carl Henry and Frances Louise Luther Scott. Kenny retired from the former Aristech where he worked in the security office and he had attended Shawnee State University.

An Army veteran of the Vietnam War, he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal with 60 devices. A Christian, Kenny was member KE8FDK of the Portsmouth Radio Club. He was also a member of the Paralyzed Veterans of America and a past member of the Orient Lodge #337 in Portsmouth.

Surviving are his wife, Joan Adkins Scott, whom he married December 22, 1969 in Portsmouth; two sons, Bart (Margie) Scott of Wheelersburg, Matt (Shawna) Scott of South Shore, KY; a daughter, Kiera Scott of Portsmouth; nine siblings, Carl (Teresa) Scott, Larry (Tammy) Scott and Barb (Lou) Pontious, all of West Portsmouth; Andy (Genny) Scott, Walter “Lee” (Ruth) Scott, Jimmy (Lisa) Scott and Patty Burns, all of Portsmouth, Chris Scott of Lucasville, and Rita (Mike) Adams of Sciotoville; five grandchildren, Aaron (Breanna) Broughton, Sydney Broughton, Reagan Scott, Angela (Zach) Gibson and Kris Hambelton; three great-grandchildren, Blayde and Delilah Gibson, and Cayden Broughton; and many nieces, nephews and their families. He was also preceded in death by his grandparents, Arnold and Marybelle Luther, Kemp Scott and Eva Meeks; and two nephews, Christopher and Michael Scott. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Rev.
