Kenneth Izzo of Moonachie, New Jersey August 8, 1924 – February 3, 2019 Kenneth Izzo, 94, passed away on Sunday, February 03, 2019 with his family at his side. A lifelong resident of Moonachie, NJ, and devoted husband to his late wife Elaine (Marchesani), passed peacefully in his home surrounded by his daughters. He was a WWII Navy Veteran who served in both the Atlantic & Pacific theatres and participated in the Normandy Invasion on LST 285.

Upon his return home, he graduated from Rutgers University. Through his work as the Moonachie Borough Clerk, volunteerism as a member of the Moonachie Fire Department Hose Co. #2, and a parishioner of St. Margaret’s Church, he made friends too numerous to count. He is survived by his five daughters and their spouses: Geraldine and Gary Vitale, Barbara and Russell Wilke, Lorraine and Mark Gloede, Pamela and Robert Barone, Diane and Adam MacNeill; his grandchildren: Nicolette and Zachary Hastings, Allison, Rebecca, Lauren, Jennifer, Mark, Andrea, Matthew, Owen, Robert, Paige, Grace and Wesley; great granddaughters Violet and Quinn, and an extended family of nieces and nephews.

Ken was predeceased by his parents Gaspare Izzo and Rose (Rettino) Izzo. Dear brother of; Alexander, Pasquale (Pat) and wife Marie, Mary and husband Dominick DeRosa, Carmela and husband Richard Boettcher, Thomas and wife Jane, Francis and wife Lucille, and Gelsomina (Honey) and husband William Bailey, in-laws Nicholas and Pauline Marchesani, brother-in-law Anthony (Butch) and wife Patti Marchesani. He shared of himself, his talents, and the fruits of his gardening labor generously with family, neighbors, and friends, and will be sorely missed.

Funeral from the Trinka-Faustini Funeral Service, 439 Maywood Ave, Maywood on Wednesday, Feb. 6,2019 at 9:30am . Funeral mass at St. Margaret of Cortona Church, 31 Chamberlain Ave, Little Ferry, at 10:00 a.m. Entombment at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington,NJ.

Visiting Tuesday 2 – 4 & 7 – 9pm. Donations may be made to St. Margaret of Cortona Food Pantry , 31 Chamberlain Ave, Little Ferry, NJ or the Moonachie First Aide Squad in his memory.
