Kenneth’s Obituary Kenneth Ray Mowdy, 63, of Bluefield WV received his eternal healing on March 25th, 2019 at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley WV. Kenneth was born on February 4, 1956. He was the son of the late Hubert and Mary Mowdy of Davy, WV.

He is preceded in death by his loving parents and two brothers Charles, Culp, and Penny Mowdy. And a granddaughter Alivia Mowdy. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife and lifelong best friend, Anita Christine Mowdy; his children, Kenny Mowdy and Opal Knuckles.

Sister, Phyllis Craft and a brother in law, Terry Martin His grandchildren, Raylan Mowdy, Myana Collins, and Brooklyn Bishop. And a great granddaughter, Elizabeth Bishop. Kenneth was formerly from Davy, WV.

He had been a resident of Bluefield, WV for the last 15 years. He was a former coal miner working for US Steel at #2 Gary and #50 Pinnacle Mines. He was a retired McDowell County Correctional Office at Welch, WV.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman all his life. He loved the outdoors and every living creature in it. In keeping with Kenneth’s wishes and request his body will be cremated and his ashes thrown on Little Davy Mountain, where he spent the best times of his life.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. The Mowdy Family would like to thank all the staff at Princeton Community Hospital, Compasus Hospice, and Bower Hospice House of Southern West Virginia, for all their compassion and respect in taking care of Kenneth and all the family in the time of deep sorrow.
