After retirement, Mona and Charles enjoyed spending the winter months and many happy hours fishing, in the Melbourne/Palm Bay area of Florida. Just days before her passing, Mona was able to visit her old fishing “haunts” and trips “ocean side” to feel sea breezes and smell the salt air. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Charles Owrey, daughters, Claire Owrey Mathena, and Mona Owrey Taylor; brothers, James Moreton, Eddie Moreton, and sister, May Moreton Taylor; son-in-law, Michael Alley.
