He was born July 16, 1958 in Macomb to Robert and Patricia Hammond Rutledge. He married his soul mate Kathryn Lescher on June 21, 1980.

She survives. Also surviving are his father, Robert of Adair; children Krista (Tim) Herrin of Manito, IL, Kolette (Chad) Kirkenmeier of Bolingbrook, IL. Four grandchildren who were the light in his life, Avery and Clayton Herrin, Caden and Charlotte Kirkenmeier.

Sister Nancy (Roy Evans) of Macomb, Brother Craig (Margo) Rutledge of Adair, many beloved nieces and nephews and his faithful four-legged companion Halle. He was preceded in death by his loving mother Pat, sister Jane Pittman and brother in law John Pittman; and niece, Lana Rutledge. Kenny lived most of his life in rural Adair.

He was a rural mail carrier in Adair for 39 years. He farmed all of his life. He was 40+ year member of the New Salem Fire Dept as a fireman and First Responder.

He was a member of the First Christian Church in Macomb. He was a Chicago Blackhawk fan and loved his Green Bay Packers. He enjoyed the friendly competition with friends who are Bears or Vikings fans.

He was an avid boater. Spending time on the water at the Illinois River, Lake of the Ozarks or an ocean anywhere was when he was in his element. Days and nights spent at Tall Timbers Marina in Havana were times he cherished.

He taught himself to play acoustic guitar. He loved to serenade Kathryn on their boat and play for the grandkids whenever he got a chance. He worked hard but he played even harder.

He was a comedian and loved to tease people and make them laugh. He loved to travel. Through the years Kenny and Kathryn traveled to Jamaica, Dominican Republic and Mexico.

Trips to Hawaii and a Panama Canal cruise were shared with Gary and Vicki Crosby. A trip to the Dominican in 2018 with Dave and Julie Powell was a memorable one. Kenny was easy to talk to and even easier to laugh with.

He loved to laugh and found humor in most situations. His favorite line was “I’m glad you got to see me”. Our hearts will never be whole until we hear this from him again.

Memorial Services will be 11 AM Saturday Jan. 12, 2019 at the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). Rev.

Kelly Ingersoll will officiate. Visitation will be Friday Jan. 11, from 4-7 PM also at the Church.
