Obituary for Kerry Laird Kerry Lane Laird, 44, passed away on Friday, October 19, 2018. Born October 28, 1973, in Brookhaven, MS, he was the son of the late Barnette Laird and Wanda Steed Hughes. He was a 1992 graduate of Calhoun City High School, and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.

Kerry was employed with Resolute Forest Products in Grenada where he worked as an Iron Worker. Kerry was a very outgoing person who never met a stranger. He was a hard working young man who would give you the shirt off his back.

His favorite saying was “don’t worry about the mule, just load the wagon”. He was a man who had a contagious smile, and loved to make people laugh. He loved animals and hanging out with friends, watching movies, or tinkering on vehicles.

Kerry had a big heart and was a loving husband, father, son, and brother. His passing has broken the hearts of all that knew him, and he will be dearly missed, but this is not goodbye for his family and friends. They know they will see him again, and find comfort knowing he is at peace in Heaven.
