Kim Brigham was born March 2, 1970, in Wahoo, to John and Marylou (Weseman) Horsham. She grew up in Wahoo where her competitive nature led her to excel in multiple sports, including golf, basketball, track and softball. Kim graduated from Wahoo High School in 1988 and went on to Peru State College where she played both basketball and softball.

She graduated from Peru in 1993 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Art and Education. She earned a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Education from Doane College in 2005. Kim married Rob Brigham on August 6, 1994.

They have five children, Bailey, Corby, Kendal, Keegan, and Kip and made their home in Wahoo where they both grew up. She began her 21-year career as an Art Teacher at Mead and joined the faculty at Wahoo High School in 2005. In addition to teaching, she loved coaching track and especially working with the hurdlers.

She also was the sponsor for the Art Club as well as National Honor Society for a period of time. Kim loved going to her kids activities, being outside working in the yard or going on walks, and was happiest when she could spend time with her family at their cabin wakeboarding, kneeboarding, tubing and just being together. She was very simplistic in her approach to life and preferred to avoid being involved in the complex issues of the day.

She focused, instead, on her family, her students, and her friends. Kim is survived by her husband Rob Brigham of Wahoo; children Bailey, Corby, Kendal, Keegan, and Kip; parents John and Mary Horsham of Wahoo; sisters Heather (Cortney) Couch of David City, Carrie (Mark) Johnson of Kearney; mother-in-law Carolyn Brigham of Wahoo; sister-in-law Wendy (Jason) Uribe of Lincoln; brothers-in-law Greg (Melissa) Brigham of Wahoo; Mike Brigham of Wahoo; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father-in-law Robert Brigham.
