Kippard I. “Kip” Pentz, 61, of Emlenton, went to be with the Lord late Monday evening, September 10, 2018. Mr. Pentz died unexpectedly of natural causes at home. Kippard was born in Oil City on December 20, 1956.
He was the son of the late Rev. Howard L. and Rev. Carole Kuntz Pentz.
He was a 1975 graduate of Allegheny-Clarion Valley High School in Foxburg and graduated from California University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Arts. Mr. Pentz taught industrial arts in several public schools over the years and also had owned and operated KVKK Pentz Construction in Canandaigua, NY. He was a member of the Church of God of Anderson, Indiana and was a seventh generation member of the Church of God at the Whitehall Camp and Conference Center in Emlenton.
At the time of his passing, Mr. Pentz was the longest serving usher at Whitehall Camp having served at camp meetings and in the tabernacle for more than 50 years. He was also a well-known highly respected lay minister in the Church of God. Kip enjoyed carpentry, model trains, telling “cheesy” jokes, but most especially enjoyed the company of his family, whom he loved and adored.
He survived by his wife, Vickie L. Pentz, whom he married at the Dutch Hill Church of God on February 24, 1978. Also surviving are two children, Kipprie L. Poellnitz and her husband, Robert, of Meadville and Koah I . Pentz and his wife, Amy, of Emlenton; eight grandchildren, Daniel, Victoria, Vanessa, Devon, Deja, Emmaleigh, Emary, and Luke.
Kip was looking forward to the birth of a granddaughter in January; a great grandchild, Exavier Kippard; two brothers, Keith Pentz and his wife, Gail of Florida and Karl Pentz and his wife, Lori, of West Freedom, as well as a number of nieces, nephews, cousisn, brothers in law, sisters in law, many friends and church family. In addition to his parents, Kip was preceded in death by a daughter, Violet Lynn and two grandchildren, Jonah Vanek and Dylan Rae. Friends will be received at the Tabernacle at the Church of God Whitehall Camp and Conference Center, 580 Whitehall Rd.
, Emlenton, from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. Friday and from 11 – 12:00 Saturday where a funeral service will follow from the tabernacle at 12:00 Noon with the Rev. Nelson Confer, pastor of the Connellsville Church of God, officiating. Interment will be in the Emlenton Cemetery.
